Film Review 3: 'Instant Family'

Instant Family is an American style comedy drama, about a couple - Pete and Ellie (Mark Wahlberg and Rose Bryne) who want to be parents and decide to adopt through foster care.

After passing their foster certification, the couple are set out to find a family of their own. The couple speak to Lizzy (Isabella Moner) a 15 year old girl who make a real impression on the couple, as after they speak to their CPS workers and enquire about Lizzy. Soon they find out that she has a younger sister and brother - Juan (Gustavo Escobar) and Lita (Julianna Gamiz).
The film portrays to the audience the highs and lows of being a foster parents and how tricky it can be for not only for the children to adapt, but also for the parents to gain the trust of their fostered children.
Right after earning their fist "mommy" and "daddy", Pete and Ellie find out that the birth mother of Lizzy, Juan and Lita has come out of jail and has been sober, therefore she wants to meet with her children. The couple agree despite how much this upsets them, after going through their court hearing, their mother agrees to take custody of the children, however, at the last minute doesn't pull through and leaves the kids - specifically Lizzy devastated. In the end, Lizzy realises that Pete and Ellie can give her the childhood she never had and can provide a better one for her younger siblings as well. Therefore, in the end the couple adopt the three.

Personally, i would rate this film 10/10, this is because I loved every aspect of the film and enjoyed watching the journey that they went through, despite some of it being sad and upsetting. The comedy as well made such a difference and even though the film is 2 hours altogether, it doesn't feel like that at all. Would and already have recommended this to other.

Film Review 2: Ocean's Eight

Film Review 2: 'Ocean's Eight'

'Ocean's Eight' directed by Gary Ross, is a comedy heist film. The film is about Debbie Ocean - played by Sandra Bullock - a former inmate in jail, who's desire it is to steal the Toussaint - a $150 million Cartier necklace. Forming a team of eight, including herself, Cate Blanchette - playing Lou - her old partner in crime, Helena Bonham-carter - playing  bankrupt fashion designer Rose Weil, Mindy Kaling playing Amita - a jewellery maker who is eager to no longer live in her mother's house, Nine Ball played by Rihanna - a security hacker, Constance played by Awkwafina - a street hustler and sneaky pickpocket, and Sarah Paulson who plays Tammy - a now stay at home mum who sells stolen goods out of her house. Once Debbie has formed her A Team, she gathers them and explains to them her plan of how to steal the Toussaint. Her plan of action, is to steal the necklace during the Met Gala and to use the popular and gorgeous film star Daphne Kluger  (who is played by Anne Hathaway) as an accomplice. The team revise Debbie's plan and execute it with precision and intensity. In the end the team not only grab the Toussaint necklace, but a whole lot more than what they planned. In my personal opinion, I would rate this film 9/10, this was because it was very clever and satisfying to watch, I personally enjoyed watching the actual plan take action and with everyone's key part to play, there's also a surprising twist that isn't foreseeable. I would 100% recommend.

Film Review 1: What Happened To Monday

Film Review 1: 'What Happened To Monday'

'What Happened To Monday' is a science fiction dystopian action film directed by Tommy Wirkola. It is about seven identical sisters all taking it interns to live the same life. Born into a society with the 'child allocation act' meaning you can only have one child per family, the sisters all have to alternate the same identity in hope of not being caught by the bureau. The settuplets alternate the days in which they go out by their names; Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, all of which they go out of the day of their name. However, one day Monday doesn't come home to her sisters, and they set on a mission to find out where she has gone and how to get her back. The film includes multiple plot twists and is a very fast pace film with a lot of action scenes to hold the viewer's attention. Personally, I wasn't sure if I would like it as I i'm not the biggest fan of science fiction and would say it is my least favourite genre, however, this film was really easy to watch and engage with. Overall would give it a good 7/10 and would recommend.
